Costa Coffee Sales & Profit Performance Dashboard is a personal portfolio project demonstrating comprehensive business intelligence and data visualization capabilities. Built using synthetic retail data, this interactive dashboard showcases how complex sales data can be transformed into actionable insights for strategic decision-making, with realistic metrics including £8.2M+ in annual revenue, product performance analysis, regional profitability breakdowns, and operational efficiency indicators.
The project was conceived to demonstrate enterprise-level analytics skills: transforming fragmented sales data from multiple stores, delivery partners, and product categories into a unified, executive-ready analytics platform. The dashboard illustrates how businesses can move beyond static spreadsheet reports to dynamic, drill-down capabilities that identify trends, optimize product mix, and enable data-driven decisions about inventory, pricing, and regional expansion strategies.
I designed and developed the complete analytics solution from data modeling to interactive visualization, focusing on creating an intuitive interface that balances comprehensive metrics with clean visual hierarchy. The dashboard employs a dark-themed design with strategic use of Costa’s brand colors (burgundy and pink accents) to highlight key performance indicators and ensure data readability, perfect for executive presentations or stakeholder meetings.
The synthetic data pipeline models realistic sales transactions representing over 16.4 million units sold across multiple channels, processing store-level data, delivery partner metrics, and product category performance. The system demonstrates automatic aggregation of daily transactions, profitability margin calculations by beverage type, geographical sales distribution tracking, and operational KPI monitoring like average delivery times. Advanced date filtering showcases year-over-year comparison and seasonal trend analysis capabilities.
Beyond static reporting, the dashboard features interactive drill-down capabilities across multiple dimensions. Users can filter by date ranges to analyze seasonal patterns, select specific store locations to benchmark performance, compare delivery partner efficiency, and analyze beverage category profitability down to individual SKUs. The geographical heatmap visualization demonstrates regional sales concentration analysis, illustrating how such tools inform expansion decisions and resource allocation strategies.
The outcome is a portfolio-ready business intelligence platform that demonstrates how complex retail data can be consolidated into clear, actionable insights.
