A full-stack logistics platform built for a UK-based delivery company, combining real-time shipment tracking, instant carrier quotes, secure payments, AI customer support, multilingual access, subcontractor onboarding, mentor programme enrolment, and admin operations.
Project Description
Silvermaris Logistics is an enterprise-grade digital platform built for a UK-based logistics company offering nationwide delivery services. The platform functions as both a professional customer-facing website and a complete business management system.
The system covers instant shipping quotes, real-time shipment tracking, secure payments, consultation bookings, mentor programme enrolment, subcontractor onboarding, and admin operations.
The project was built from the ground up as a modern full-stack web application using React, TypeScript, Express.js, and PostgreSQL, with third-party integrations including PayPal, EasyPost, OpenAI, Resend, and Web Push.
Project Overview
The main objective was to create one unified platform that could replace disconnected tools and give the business a more professional, automated, and scalable digital operation.
The platform was designed to support customers, administrators, subcontractors, and aspiring logistics entrepreneurs through one central system. It combines logistics functionality, customer service automation, online booking, payment processing, multilingual access, and operational management into a single web application.
The Challenge
The client needed a single platform that could:
- Provide instant and accurate shipping quotes from multiple UK carriers.
- Allow customers to track shipments in real time.
- Process online payments securely.
- Support an AI-powered customer service chatbot available 24/7.
- Manage consultation bookings and mentor programme enrolment.
- Handle subcontractor and driver applications.
- Support a global audience through multilingual translation.
- Give administrators a secure dashboard to manage daily operations.
Key Features Built
Real-Time Shipment Tracking
Customers can enter a tracking number and instantly view shipment status through a visual progress timeline. The system supports delivery stages including picked up, in transit, out for delivery, and delivered.
AI Customer Support Chatbot
The platform includes an AI-powered chatbot named Sarah. It supports shipment tracking, quote generation, consultation booking, order enquiries, and escalation to human support.
EasyPost Quote Engine
Integrated with EasyPost for real-time carrier rate shopping across DPD UK, Royal Mail, Parcelforce, Hermes, Yodel, UPS, FedEx, and DHL Express.
PayPal Payment Processing
Secure online payments were implemented through PayPal for consultation bookings and mentor programme enrolment, including order creation, payment capture, and automated receipts.
Consultation Booking System
Built an 18-service consultation catalogue with prices ranging from £60 to £260. Customers can select a service, complete checkout, and schedule a consultation.
Mentor Programme Enrolment
Implemented three mentorship tiers for aspiring logistics entrepreneurs: 3-month, 6-month, and 9-month programmes, with pricing from £1,500 to £3,000.
Subcontractor Applications
Created a dedicated application system for van owners and drivers to apply for delivery opportunities across major UK cities.
Push Notifications
Added real-time shipment status alerts through the Web Push API for status changes, delivery confirmations, and pickup reminders.
Admin Dashboard
Built a secure admin dashboard for managing quotes, shipments, contacts, subcontractor applications, mentor enrolments, consultation bookings, and system activity.
Automated Email Notifications
Implemented transactional email notifications using Resend for booking confirmations, payment receipts, contact form submissions, and quote notifications.
Multi-Language Support
The platform includes translation support across eight languages. UI text, buttons, labels, forms, and system messages were structured to support multilingual access.

Design Approach
The interface was designed with a clear visual hierarchy, strong contrast, responsive layouts, and a mobile-first structure. The design uses a professional blue colour system to communicate trust and reliability, supported by gold accent buttons for key calls to action.
The platform also includes full dark and light mode support, with components, cards, forms, backgrounds, and navigation elements adapting across both themes.
